How We Work
At Girls Advancement Foundation, our work is organized around six interconnected thematic areas. Each one tackles a barrier that holds girls and women back — and together, they create a fuller path to dignity, opportunity, and lasting change.
Girls' Education & School Reintegration
We help girls and children return to the classroom — and stay there. Through scholastic materials, back-to-school kits, and consistent encouragement, we work to remove the everyday barriers that keep learners out of school. Education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty and unlocking a lifetime of opportunity.
Menstrual Health & Hygiene
We create safe, honest spaces where girls can learn about their bodies and manage their menstrual health with confidence. Our sessions break stigma, build awareness, and equip girls with the knowledge and supplies they need to stay active in school, at home, and in their communities — with dignity intact.
Skills Development & Economic Empowerment
We equip girls and women with practical, income-generating skills that open the door to financial independence. From baking and bag making to bead craft, make-up artistry, and other livelihood trades, our training programs help participants build real earning power — and the self-belief that goes with it.
Community Health & Wellbeing
We bring healthcare closer to the women, children, and families who need it most through medical outreaches and community health camps across the FCT, Abuja. Our work includes health awareness campaigns, camp-based interventions, and the donation of antenatal medication to support safer pregnancies and stronger maternal outcomes.
Humanitarian Relief & Social Support
We stand with internally displaced persons and underserved communities through donations, relief items, and practical, on-the-ground support. Our humanitarian work is grounded in a simple belief: people affected by crisis deserve to be met with dignity, care, and hope — not forgotten.
Climate Awareness & Clean Cooking Advocacy
We engage market women and community members in conversations about climate change, its everyday impact, and the importance of clean cooking. By promoting simple, realistic practices, we help families protect their health, reduce environmental harm, and take small but meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future.
